Data Warehouse is a computer system to archive and analyze historical data of an organization such as sales data, salary, and other information from daily operations. In General, an organization copied the information from operational systems (such as sales and HUMAN RESOURCES) to data warehouse according to the regular schedule, such as every night or every weekend. The simplest architecture on a Data Warehouse is the basic architecture. This architecture makes the user can access the data directly in the Data Warehouse, where data – data derived from various sources of data collected into one. In architecture is divided into three parts, namely:
Data Sources
The first part is the Data Source or sources of data where data in the Data Warehouse comes from sources within this generally is a database. However, the data source can also be applications (Software, repository, and Flat files). Data Sources consist of Operational systems and Flat Files. Data – data on the operational Data Sources originating from the Operational System and Flat File transferred directly into the Data Warehouse. On the Data Warehouse data – data is stored in the Summary Data.
Warehouse
The warehouse is a warehouse for data that is collected from a variety of data sources. The warehouse contains a Summary of Data, Metadata, and Raw Data. Metadata is data that contains the structure of the data in question as objects, Business Rules, Process. Summary Data is data from Data Sources (Operational Systems and Flat Files) are compiled into a table and have not computed which contains information and dimensions. Raw Data is the raw data that comes from a data source that has not undergone any changes. In the Data Warehouse, the Data Summary holds the role of the most important, If compared to the Raw Data and Metadata. Of course, this has particular reason i.e. because the data has not been computed and intact as the result of the aggregation. While Metadata and Raw Data are more inclined towards the implementation of the basic OLTP although Metadata and Raw Data OLAP embraced.
Users
Users are the user of the Data Warehouse. This Basic architecture connects the User with the Data Warehouse directly. Users consist of three groups include Mining, Analysis, and Reporting. Analysis-related data analysis utilizing data – data in the Data Warehouse and OLAP. Mining or doing this addition is defined as data mining activities to gain knowledge in the form of information. While the Reporting is effort reporting digitally, either in the form of data or information or data that has been processed.
